As an app which creates customized bundles, Bundle Builder empowers you to tailor your bundle page to what you and your customers want to see - and this includes the text.
Not only does Bundle Builder support third-party translation apps that allow your bundle page to use multiple languages, but it also allows you to choose the exact wording you wish to display on your bundle page.
- Within Bundle Builder, go to Settings.
- Select Translations.

Under Translations, you will find an alphabetized list of the user interface text within Bundle Builder.

This text is called placeholder text, and it refers to the bundle page's standard terminology set through Bundle Builder, such as 'Bundle discount' and 'Bundle price'.
Here, you have the option to replace Bundle Builder's placeholder text with your own chosen text by filling in the Translations fields, and clicking Save.

Using translations to customize labels
The translation feature isn't limited to translating to another language. It can also be used to translate our generic action and description words and phrases into ones that make sense to you and your customers.
Let us show you how to do this:
Without Using a Language Translation App
As a standard, Shopify does not allow you to sell in multiple languages unless you have installed a supported third-party language translation app onto your store.
Without installing a language translation app, changing the placeholder text on the bundle page is simple. Only two options will appear in the drop-down menu within Bundle Builder under Translations > Language:
- The word 'Default'.
- The name of the language that your default is set to.
Your Default language is set to English in your Shopify admin settings. Within Bundle Builder under Translations, two options show in the Language drop-down bar: Default and English (en).

Therefore, to apply new customized text to replace Bundle Builder's placeholder text:
- Under Translations > Language, select the second option from the drop-down menu (the name of the language that your default is set to).
- Write your chosen text in the fields below.
- Click Save.
Using a Language Translation App
Adding Multiple Languages
When using a language translation app, you will be able to use multiple languages on your storefront.
As the languages available within Bundle Builder are controlled through Shopify's admin settings, the languages you have added will show in the drop-drown menu under Translations > Language.
Making Custom Changes to Translations
Making custom changes to the placeholder text under Translations requires more legwork when multiple languages are involved, because the custom changes must be made to each individual language.
To add placeholder text to multiple languages:
- Under Translations > Language, select the first language option that you are making changes to from the drop-down menu.
- Write your chosen text in the fields below in that first specific language.
- Go back to the drop-down menu, and select the second language option.
- Write your chosen text in the fields below in that second specific language.
- Continue until all language options have been entered, and click Save.
Making Master Changes
Occasionally, you may want to replace placeholder text with new text which applies regardless of which language your store is set to. This might apply to a trademarked piece of text, or a product name which stays consistent through all languages.
To make these master changes, we use the Default language; this is the language applied to the theme if your customer's preferred language isn't available.
This can be found within your Shopify admin under Settings > Store languages.

Making Default Master Changes
When changes are made to the Default text, these changes will be applied to all languages added to your store.
In order to make master changes:
- Under Translations > Language, select Default from the drop-down menu.
- Write your chosen master text in the fields below.
- Click Save.
Overwriting the Default Master Changes
Master changes you make through the Default language option only apply to placeholder text.
This means that if you make master changes to a specific piece of text by adding a Translation under Default, and then add another Translation to that same piece of text under a different language, the bundle page will overwrite the master changes with the language-specific translation.
You have added the languages English, French, Spanish and German to your store.
On your bundle page, you want the word 'Bundles' to say 'Sweets' in every language - except French, where you want the word 'Bundles' to says 'Bonbons'.
Therefore, you need to make a master change to the word 'Bundles' by using the Default option, and then overwrite that master change for the French language option by using French (fr).
-
Under Translations > Languages, you select Default from the drop-down menu.
-
You go to the field under the placeholder text which says 'Bundles'
-
You write 'Sweets'.
-
You then go back to the drop-down menu and select French (fr).
-
You go to the field under the placeholder text which says 'Bundles'.
-
You write 'Bonbons'.
-
You click Save.
