How to Build a Bundle - Products

Every bundle you create can have a mix of optional and required products. Optional means the customer is free to purchase or ignore the item. Required means the customer must purchase the minimum quantity of the item (or items) to buy other products in the bundle.

 We have two sets of instructions. 

• One for Single page bundles.
• One for Multiple sections bundles.

Important

Do not use a third-party service to house product variants (e.g. Printful). Bundle Builder will not function without access to the correct product information within your Shopify admin.

Adding products to a Single page bundle

You can add products individually (bulk additions are possible) or import a collection.

Individual products

1. Click Add products.
2. Check the box next to each item you want to add to the bundle.
3. Click Add.

Importing a collection

You can add products to your bundle from a collection.

1. Click the Import products from collection button.
2. Check the box next to the collection name.
3. Click Add.
4. Remove individual collection items. (optional)
5. Add variants. (optional)

• This is a one-time import. Any future changes to the products in the collection do not appear here in the bundle. 

Adding products to a Multiple sections bundle

You can place one or more products into a bundle section. The workflow is similar to adding products to a Single page bundle (see above) with an extra step.

1. Open a Multiple sections bundle.
2. Click Edit section.

1. Add products or import a collection.
2. Click Save section.

Adding variants  

If a product has variants, you can add the variants to the bundle (Single page and Multiple sections). Bundle Builder displays variants as separate items in the bundle.

1. Select a product that has variants.
2. Click the Add a variant link. A popup window displays the available variants for that item.

1. Check the box next to each variant you want to place inside the bundle.
2. Click Add.

1. Click X to remove a variant. (optional)
2. Repeat steps to add more product variants.

Adding required products

A required product is an item in the bundle (or section) that cannot be removed from the customer's cart.

Note Take care not to delete an item that is a required product in a bundle. If you delete the required product, your bundle remains visible in the store, but it won't work correctly. Bundle Builder sends an email notification if you delete a bundle item that is a required product.

To add a required product:

1. Click the Add required products button.
2. Check the box next to each item you want to add.
3. Click Add.
4. Add more required items. (optional)

Optional steps

1. Use the plus and minus icons to increase or increase the minimum required quantity. (optional)
2. Check the box to display the base price. Base price is the total price of the required product in the bundle minus any fixed discount you have applied.

Important

If you add a required product, we suggest that you complete this extra step after creating the bundle. This step can improve the visual display of your bundle.

1. Go to Settings > Design.

1. Go to Show bundle contents in overlay and uncheck the box.
2. Go to Show bundle contents at all times, and check the box.
3. Click Save.

Adding variants

Required products can have variants. 

1. Click the Add a variant link. A popup window displays the available variants for that item.
2. Check the box next to each variant you want to add to the bundle (or section).
3. Click Add.
