Introduction
This stage of the bundle creation process involves setting up the Conditions. This is an optional step, but many merchants will set conditions to gain more control over how customers interact with the bundle. Customers will need to follow the conditions you set to successfully add the bundle to their cart.
When accessing this tab, you can define the criteria and limitations for the products and prices in your bundle.
Video tutorial
The easiest way to learn about setting up bundle conditions is by viewing our video! Alternatively, we also have a text guide with screenshots below.
A step-by-step guide
How conditions work
It's good to be aware that any condition (or rule) you create will apply to the bundle as a whole.
When you create more than one condition for a bundle, all conditions must be satisfied before the bundle can be purchased. In the screenshot below, two conditions have been added:
- Bundle price must be greater than or equal to 28
- Total number of products must be greater than or equal to 3
Bundle Builder will disable the Add bundle to cart button until the customer’s cart meets all the conditions.
In the example below, only 2 products have been added at a total cost of £21.16. To meet all the conditions to proceed, the customer must add at least 1 more item, and the total cost to at least £28.00.
Tip: If you want to add conditions to a specific section of a bundle that uses a multi-step structure, such as adding required products, you can do this by going to Bundle Builder > Bundles > Products.
Setting conditional criteria
It's completely up to you how your bundles function. By using rules, you are able to define the:
- Bundle price (before and after discount)
- Total number of products
- Amount of one product
- Number of different products
To set a condition:
Step 1: Click the Add rule button.
Step 2: Select a product/price condition.
Step 3: Select an operator.
Step 4: Enter a quantity.
Step 5: Add more rules. (optional)
Step 6: Click Save.
Key terms
- Bundle price: The price of a bundle after taking discounts into account.
- Bundle price (before discount): The price of a bundle before taking discounts into account.
- Total number of products: The number of items in the bundle.
- Number of different products: Define the minimum or the maximum number of different products that must be in the cart before a purchase can be completed.
- Amount of one product: Set minimum bulk order quantities for every bundle product. It's not possible to target a specific product through this rule. You could also use this rule to limit the maximum quantity that could be purchased in the bundle.
Other options
Disable overfilling
This option is activated by default and disables the Add bundle to cart button when a customer reaches the quantity limit set by your conditions. This feature applies to product rules but not price rules.
Example:
When Disable overfilling is not active, customers will be able to surpass the maximum quantity, but the Add bundle to cart button will still be disabled.
Example:
Show bundle limit message
Check the Show bundle limit message box to display a message that notifies customers they can no longer add items to their bundle because the bundle limit has been reached.
Disabling section navigation
This feature is for Multi-step bundles only. Check the box to shade out the Next and Previous buttons if a customer’s cart doesn't meet your section’s conditions. This prevents users from going to the next section without meeting your product or price conditions.
Note: The default setting for this feature is enabled. Uncheck the box to disable the feature.

Next steps
Amazing job on creating your bundle! Now that you've completed the setup process, you're probably wondering what's next? There are a couple of paths you could take from this point.
1. Activating Cart Integration
We highly recommend integrating Bundle Builder with your theme's cart. For most people, this is a quick one-click activation. And you only need to do it once per theme. If you've created a Multiple SKU bundle then this is a critical step. Without cart integration, Multiple SKU bundles won't work correctly.
2. Display your bundles on your storefront
Alternatively, if you've created a Single SKU bundle only - or you only plan on using Single SKU bundles, then activating Cart Integration isn't a requirement. Instead, let's make sure customers can easily find your bundles on your store!
