Introduction
Bundle Builder allows you to create both single-page and multiple-page bundles (referred to in the app as single-step and multiple-step bundles). The complexity of your bundle offer will determine which option is most suitable.
To help support your decision, you can ask yourself: Is the customer able to achieve the discount by configuring their bundle from a variety of products on a single page? Or should the process be broken into steps to enhance the experience?
How do multiple-step bundles work?
When you design a multiple-step bundle, you are essentially dividing the bundle into distinct stages, each featuring its own set of products. To add the bundle to the cart, the customer must meet the unique conditions for each step and fulfill the overall bundle requirements.
Customers who view multiple-step bundles will navigate through their bundles by clicking the Previous or Next buttons. Additionally, you can enable clickable navigation tabs at the top of the page.
The Add bundle to cart button will remain disabled until the customer has met the full criteria of the bundle (i.e. all conditions/rules have been fulfilled).
You can return to the bundle's Product settings at any time to amend its steps, products, variants, and rules.
Why might you choose a multiple-step bundle?
A multiple-step structure lets you create a new page in the bundling process for either a group of products or a single item. Some advantages of multiple-step bundles are:
- You can build a narrative that the customer must follow - giving you more control over the finished bundle.
- You can provide a specialized and engaging bundling experience.
- You can offer certain products at certain stages.
- It's easier to place restrictions on certain products (e.g. quantity limits).
Examples of multiple-step bundles
Example 1: A coffee store offers a bundle specifically aimed at helping inexperienced customers create their first coffee kit. This kit not only gives customers confidence in their initial purchase but also encourages them to return for more coffee supplies.
Bundle step 1: Choose one coffee machine.
Bundle step 2: Choose one or more accessories (limited to one per product).
Bundle step 3: Choose one or more bags of coffee (limited to one per product).
Example 2: A beauty store offers a gift set which is described as an ideal birthday present. The customer is limited to only one of each product type and is incentivized to choose a free gift at the final stage of the bundle.
Bundle step 1: Choose one hand cream.
Bundle step 2: Choose one moisturizer.
Bundle step 3: Choose one body butter.
Bundle Step 4: Add one free gift!
Example 3: A baby product store sells a popular bundle for baby showers and newborns. Customers have the flexibility to choose as many items as they wish and enjoy a generous 30% discount upon completion. However, the store has introduced several limits to their steps that must be followed.
Bundle step 1: Choose clothing (the total value must be at least $30).
Bundle step 2: Choose pajamas (the total value must be at least $30).
Bundle step 3: Choose toys (at least two products must be added).
Bundle step 4: Choose blankets (at least one product must be added).
Bundle step 5: Choose a greeting card (one product must be chosen).

Step 5 (optional): Add product variants.
Step 6 (optional): Add rules.
Step 7. Click Done.
For more detailed information about variants and rules, see the support document for Step 3: Products.
Adding more steps
After your first step is finished you can repeat the process to add more:
