Why is my bundle price showing as 'zero' at the checkout?

Standard Bundles.
If you're experiencing problems with zero priced checkouts, we'd recommend switching to our 'Standard' bundle type, which is the fastest and most compatible bundle type.

There are three possible reasons why a bundle price would display at zero at the checkout:

  • The customer selected a dynamic payment option in the cart.

  • Unsuccessful 'Legacy - Separate SKU' cart integration.

  • Discounts resulted in a free bundle.

Each reason, and their possible fixes, are explained below. If you haven't identified the reason after working through this list, please contact the Bundle Builder support team and we'll be happy to investigate further.



The customer selected a dynamic payment option in the cart

If dynamic payment options are enabled in your cart (for example, PayPal and Google Pay buttons), your bundles won't process correctly when a customer clicks these. This could result in your bundle prices displaying incorrectly.

Dynamic payment buttons will work correctly at the checkout stage but should be removed from the cart.

When customers select a dynamic payment option in the cart, the bundle order step is skipped. As a result, the price can be incorrect and the individual products will not be added to the order.

To resolve this issue we suggest removing payment buttons from the cart and only allowing them once the customer has reached the checkout (at which point the bundle has already been processed into individual products). It's possible to hide payment buttons in the cart using CSS code.



Unsuccessful 'Legacy - Separate SKU' cart integration

If the affected bundle is a 'Legacy - Seperate SKU' bundle, then the issue could be related to your cart integration. Bundle Builder requires you to activate cart integration for Multiple SKU bundles to process correctly. If you haven't done this yet or performed the integration unsuccessfully, then bundle prices could appear incorrect.


Discounts resulted in a free bundle

Your bundle price can drop to zero depending on how your discounting rules were set up. If you've not offered a flat discount of 100%, it's possible for tiered discounts to accumulate to the point where the bundle becomes free.

There's an option on each bundle page that can prevent this. Ensure Allow total bundle price to be 0 is disabled. It's worth reviewing and testing your tiered discounts to limit the number of bundles that can reach zero unless you wish to give away free bundles by design.
